Hmmm! Do pets count??? We did once have a cockatiel named Demetrius. Just for fun, when we'd had him about 3 years, we (I) signed him up for the Burger King Kids Club! He got birthday cards and coupons long after he was no longer whistling to Tom and hissing at me!! We chuckled and used the coupons... just didn't have the heart to tell Burger King that Demetrius B(bird) Flinn had flown the coop to that great birdcage in the sky!

Comments    Hmmm!   Since 1959, I spent a couple of years in college (WC-UNC), then was off to the working world to save for finishing college.

Going back to college just didn't happen.   I was too busy learning on the job and in training classes about what would become my lifelong career.   After a few years with Eastern Airlines (remember them?)and a move to Miami that led me into the Information Technology field, I moved to New York City (Manhattan) for a couple of years (1969-70).

In 1971, I went back to Miami and married Tom whom I'd met in '65 while at Eastern there.

We moved to California (Cupertino)for a couple of years (1974-75) and then headed back to Miami... technically, Miami Springs.

After some 30+ years there, we totally retired in 2003 and moved to Sun City Center, FL.   We couldn't have made a better choice!

Serendipity has been our keyword for the now some 37 years we've been married.

School Story    So many! I loved working in the cafeteria as it gave me an opportunity to see so many of my classmates! I loved the football games, mind you, I didn't know the difference between a touchdown and a quarterback, I was just there to enjoy the camaraderie and cheering our team on! ... thank goodness for our cheerleaders!

I remember crusin' all the favorite spots, usually with Vivien! And, sometimes Phyllis (Coley)!

I remember working at the Monte Vista! Ahhh, what fun that was! I got to know who was taking who to the drive-in and parking on the back row!!! That was perhaps considered a bit racy in our time...

I remember Spanish class... we had Olguita Atienza (class of '61 whose family had come to Gastonia in late '58) in our class! She was there to improve her English. That was before ESOL!

I remember Chemistry Class... usually in lab, I was goofing off! Had it not been for Bill Jarman, my lab partner, I would definitely have totally failed that class!!! (In college, still perhaps thanks to Bill, I did a much better job and actually enjoyed it!

That's it for now!

VIDEOS: None yet! We have LOTS of video but just haven't gotten around to posting them! And, I have to learn how to use YouTube! ... another "new trick for an old dog"!

Enjoying our New Year's Eve (12/31/2007) cocktails with snow on the windows behind us! It was nigh on midnight and we were on a ship in Antarctica... no darkness!

4/15/09: We spent the day at Fantasy of Flight (over in the Polk City, FL area, sometimes called "Orlampa" as it is about half-way between Orlando & Tampa).

Our special treat to ourselves was a "Barnstorming" flight... and, of course with all the necessary complements: helmet, goggles, etc.!

WOW! What a thrill! Neither of us had ever flown in an open cockpit plane! Yep, the pic was taken when we were back on the ground!
